Arthur’s Point Farm is a state-licensed plant nursery in the heart of New York’s Hudson Valley. We specialize in native trees, shrubs, and perennials for ecological restorationholistic landscapes, and climate-resilient agroforestry systems.
We seek to create a more abundant world for future generations. We work to reverse the long-term depletion and inequitable use of natural resources. We plant trees, heal the land, and enhance habitat for wildlife. This makes the land more productive and resilient to a changing climate. It also makes for a nicer place to live, raise our children, and foster community.

How to Kill Your Lawn and Plant a Native Wildflower Meadow

Lawns occupy more land in the United States than corn. They hog water and fertilizer, and are doused with herbicides. They provide little, if any, ecological benefit, carbon sequestration, or climate resilience. Yet, we’re obsessed with these wasteful green carpets. Do you like mowing every week? Some people say its meditative and relaxing. How about reading a book in a hammock

Planting It Back: A Shared Path Toward Ecological Restoration

Kelly of Arthur’s Point welcomes the New Leaf team to Arthur’s Point Farm for a tour of the yard. One morning in the Hudson Valley, a tree falls. Its canopy, long shading a backyard or sheltering a hillside, collapses with a crack. A moment later and a mile away, a new tree emerges at Arthur’s Point Farm. Its roots, carefully

The following is a list of programs, incentives, and funding sources designed to help New York landowners invest in forest health and reforestation. The more trees we plant, the bigger the

Forests Key to Climate Goals in New York (And Beyond)

Investing in forest conservation, stewardship, and reforestation is key to fighting climate change and reversing ecological loss. The benefits of these investments more than justify the costs (read our blog on “The Power of Forests to Slow Climate Change”). As climate and environmental programs face unprecedented assault at the federal level, we need to shift our efforts toward opportunities at the state

The Power of Forests to Slow Climate Change

Forests slow climate change, build natural resilience, and create a more abundant world. Forests cover almost one-third of the Earth’s land and they absorb about one-fifth of the greenhouse gasses we emit from burning fossil fuels (7.6 out of 37.8 billion metric tonnes in 2023). Halting deforestation, conserving existing forests, and reforesting areas with diverse, climate-resilient tree species are essential

What is Biochar?

A carbon-sequestering, soil-enriching solution.

Climate Friendly Farming

Agroforestry: A Natural Climate Solution

Integrating trees and perennial plants with livestock and annual crops can increase a farm’s productivity and profitability over time. It makes the land more resilient to increasingly volatile weather associated with climate change. It also makes farming more sustainable and in balance with nature. Our bare-root nursery provides the highest quality trees, shrubs, and perennial wildflowers. Our biochar enhances soil structure, fosters beneficial microbes, and sequesters carbon. And our design expertise keeps the land whole. Find out more about how we can help your farm grow.
